Rihanna knows how to make a moment, even when the moment is a toddler’s birthday party. On Sept. 13, she celebrated her daughter Rocki Irish turning one, and the two of them stepped out in matching custom pale pink Dior rompers topped with oversized black-and-white polka dot bows. Rocki rounded out the look with a dainty chain necklace, tiny diamond stud earrings, and bows tied in her pigtails. Photos from the day came courtesy of Rihanna’s longtime friend Melissa Forde, who shared a birthday message about how fast the year went.
The party itself was built for little ones. A pastel layered cake, balloons, play structures, and a kid-sized carousel filled the celebration. Rocki is the youngest of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s three children, joining big brothers RZA, 4, and Riot, 3. It’s also not the first time Dior has shown up in her young life. She wore a vintage Galliano beanie during a trip to Paris and appeared on a W magazine cover in a Dior Haute Couture diaper.
Strip away the designer labels and it’s a scene families everywhere recognize. One baby in her best outfit, a cake that took more effort than anyone will admit, and a house full of people glad to be there for it. That part is universal, whether your romper comes from Dior or the clearance rack at the farm store.
