Baz Luhrmann’sRomeo + Julietis turning 30, and the anniversary celebration is bigger than a re-release. The 1996 film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes is going back to theaters worldwide with a live orchestra performing the score and soundtrack in sync with the movie. Yes, that means hearing Des’ree, The Cardigans, Radiohead and Garbage performed live while the film plays on screen.
The tour premieres September 29 at the Sydney Opera House, then crosses the U.S. with more than 40 theater dates starting January 9 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Australia gets a return visit in May, and a 12-country European run follows through October and November 2026, including the U.K., France, Germany and the Netherlands. The production comes from GEA Live with Disney Concerts and Luhrmann himself.
