Shanna Moakler is speaking her mind about a decision she can’t take back. On the September 10 episode of iHeartRadio’s“I Do, Part 2”podcast, she told host Jana Kramer that she regrets participating in her ex-husband Travis Barker’s Hulu documentary,“Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear.”In her words,“I regret a lot. I wish I didn’t do it.”She said she felt in her gut she wouldn’t be portrayed the way she deserved, and she still hasn’t watched the finished film.
Moakler and the Blink-182 drummer were married from 2004 to 2008 and share two children, Landon, 22, and Alabama, 20. Despite everything the two have been through publicly, she said there’s one point they’ve always agreed on: putting their kids first.“The one thing my ex and I agree on was our children,”she said. That single rule, she explained, carried them through a very public split.
She’s also preparing to release a memoir titled“Blink of an Eye,”which she hopes will help women navigating trauma and public embarrassment. It raises a bigger question about how much of our lives we hand over to cameras and editors, and who gets to shape the story afterward.
Have you ever regretted letting someone tell your story for you? We’d love to hear it.
