Soundgarden's Final Album With Chris Cornell Is Finally Being Mixed

Nearly a decade after Chris Cornell’s passing, Soundgarden’s final album is one step closer to reaching fans. Drummer Matt Cameron confirmed on the“Let There Be Talk”podcast that the record is now in the mixing stage. The eight-track album features vocals Cornell recorded before his death in 2017, with guitarist Kim Thayil potentially adding more instrumental work. It’s been a long road to get here, with legal disputes between the band and Cornell’s estate settled in 2023 and the band teasing new music on the eighth anniversary of his death in 2025.
