Two months after the passing of Storage Wars star Darrell“The Gambler”Sheets, his loved ones gathered to honor his memory in a way befitting a man who built a career on finding treasure in the forgotten corners of life. The celebration of life took place in Huntington Beach on Monday, June 29, drawing family, friends, and former castmates who wanted to pay their respects to the reality TV fixture who became synonymous with the A&E show over more than a decade of appearances.

Sheets died on April 22 at his Arizona home at the age of 67. The Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed his cause of death was ruled a suicide. The announcement reverberated through the Storage Wars community—a tight-knit group of auctioneers and treasure hunters who’d worked alongside Sheets since the show’s debut in 2010. Over his 13-year run, Sheets appeared in 163 episodes, becoming known not just for his keen eye for valuable finds but for his iconic catchphrase:“This is the WOW factor!”

Among those present at the ceremony was fellow Storage Wars star Dave Hester, who shared his gratitude on Facebook for the opportunity to pay tribute.“It was an honor to be a part of Derrell’s Celebration of Life yesterday,”Hester wrote, thanking Brandon and Kimber—Sheets’son and ex-wife—for hosting the event. The gathering featured a commemorative memorial display case, complete with a plaque bearing Sheets’birth and death dates alongside the inscription“Ride in Peace,”and a photograph of the man who’d launched his own business, Havasu Show Me Your Junk, after his years on television.

Sheets left behind two children: son Brandon Sheets and daughter Tiffany Sheets. His legacy extends beyond the episodes he appeared in—he helped define an era of reality television where everyday people could become household names by simply being authentically themselves in front of the camera. Fellow cast member Casey Nezhoda also shared her own reflections from the event, underscoring just how much Sheets mattered to those who knew him.

A&E also acknowledged his passing with a statement that captured the sentiment felt across the Storage Wars family:“We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell‘The Gambler’Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”For fans and colleagues alike, Sheets’absence leaves a notable void in a show that thrived on his energy and expertise.
