Travis Barker's New PSA Makes the Case for Shelter Pets and Small, Simple Choices

Travis Barker has spent decades behind a drum kit, but his newest gig is a whole lot quieter. The Blink-182 drummer is starring in a 30-second PSA for Humane World For Animals and their“Small Steps For Good”campaign. The ask is simple: adopt shelter pets, skip real fur, and choose cruelty-free products when you shop. Not an overhaul of your life, just one good choice at a time.

For Barker, this isn’t a one-off. He’s been vegetarian since he was thirteen years old and went fully vegan after surviving a 2008 plane crash. He’s put real money behind the lifestyle too, investing in L.A.’s plant-based Crossroads Kitchen, with an all-vegan VANS collaboration in the works. His daughter Alabama has been vegetarian her entire life.“Good is never boring,”he says in the spot, and his other line might be even better: being nice to animals isn’t that hard, and it won’t cause too much of an identity crisis for anyone.
