Trey Parker and Matt Stone Apologize for "Whitney Springs" Delays, Say They Still Believe in the Movie

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have taken full responsibility for the repeated delays on“Whitney Springs,”the musical comedy they’ve been working on with Kendrick Lamar and his pgLang team. The film was originally set for July 4, 2025, moved to March 2026, and then got pulled from Paramount’s schedule with no replacement date announced.

In a statement, the South Park creators apologized to their partners at pgLang and Paramount, saying South Park and life’s circumstances got in the way of the schedule, but that they still believe in the project. It’s a stacked one, too. Kendrick Lamar served as a producer and contributed original music, Dave Free is a producer, and Vernon Chatman wrote the script. The story follows a young Black reenactor at a slave plantation museum, and it’s a live-action follow-up to Orgazmo.

For now, fans are left with the same thing they’ve had for months: patience. No trailer, no new release date, just a promise that the movie is still coming. Parker and Stone have never been shy about taking their time when it matters, and they’re asking folks to trust them on this one.
