If you grew up in the 2000s, you probably remember the Gosselins. Eight kids, a reality show on TLC, and a family that seemed to live their entire lives on camera. Now one of those kids — Collin Gosselin — is all grown up and sharing a very different story than the one we saw on TV.
Collin, now 22, posted a letter to his younger self on Instagram. The black-and-white photo shows him as a little boy, and he wrote,“You will be the reason someone else speaks up. I’m so proud of you.”It’s a powerful preview of his upcoming memoir, *In the Shadow of Eight*, which comes out October 13. In the book, Collin alleges emotional and physical abuse by his mother, Kate Gosselin, and says he was kept in a basement and forced on antipsychotics. Kate has denied the allegations. Collin calls the book“about truth, survival, resilience and finding my voice after years of being silenced.”
We want to hear from you. Did you watch the show back in the day, and how does this new information change what you thought about the family? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
