Reality TV fans live for the moment when a contestant proves every prediction wrong—and Love on the Spectrum’s Connor Tomlinson just delivered exactly that.
The 27-year-old star announced his new relationship with Sarah Siebert on Monday, July 6, via an Instagram video showing the two lounging poolside. It’s sweet, it’s casual, it’s a pretty standard relationship reveal—except for one hilarious detail that’s sent fans into a frenzy: Siebert is blonde. As in, the exact opposite of what Tomlinson spent three seasons insisting he wanted.
Throughout his time on Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum seasons 2 through 4, Tomlinson made no secret of his preference for brunettes. He’d even called his previous girlfriend, Love on the Spectrum costar Georgie Harris, his“brunette demigodess”when they were introduced in season 3 in 2025. That relationship lasted into season 4 but ultimately didn’t stick. In April, as the season premiered, Tomlinson told Us Weekly that he and Harris were simply incompatible.“The more we did, the more we came to realize we’re just two different people,”he explained.“What she wanted, I couldn’t give her. What I wanted, she couldn’t give me.”Harris, 24, has since moved on with her own new boyfriend, Luke.
So when Tomlinson captioned his pool video with“Hard launch 🚀”and added“Sarah and I are just boyfriend&girlfriend and for now that’s good enough for us,”the internet did what it does best: immediately called out the contradiction.“But she’s a blonde!?!? 😂”and“A BLONDE?!”flooded the comments, while his sister Anna leaned into the bit with her own comment:“AND SHE’S A BLONDE 🗣️🥰.”
It’s a genuinely fun moment of character development, even if Tomlinson himself doesn’t seem to be making a big deal about it. In fact, his whole energy around this relationship feels refreshingly low-key compared to his earlier seasons. When he told Us Weekly about what he was looking for next, he’d mentioned wanting“someone smart, sophisticated and talented”who was“still very kind and pretty”—notably leaving hair color completely off that list.
The timing also marks a turning point for Tomlinson overall. Shortly after his split from Harris was revealed, he announced he’d be exiting the show ahead of season 5.“I feel like three seasons is enough to tell my story and find love on my own time,”he told Variety. He’s not disappearing entirely—he’s pivoted toward voice work and animation, which he’s always loved. So in a way, finding Sarah while stepping away from the Netflix spotlight feels like Tomlinson’s actually learning something that the show’s whole premise is built on: real connection doesn’t always fit the narrative you write for yourself.
