When Lincoln police arrived at a home on Earlton Lane in December 2024, responding to a hung-up 911 call, they found a crime scene that would take months to unravel. Emmanuel Lasu, then 52, was standing outside covered in blood. Inside, they discovered 34-year-old Jonathan Williams dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Now, more than seven months later, Placer County authorities have moved the case forward. Lasu was arrested this past Monday and booked into the South Placer County Jail on homicide charges after the Placer County District Attorney’s Office filed formal charges following the follow-up investigation. A firearm was recovered from the residence during the initial response.

The incident unfolded on December 10, 2024, when the 911 call came in. Officers arrived to find Lasu at the scene and immediately moved to secure the home for a welfare check—a step that led to the discovery of Williams’body. Probable cause for arrest was established early, but the DA’s office needed additional investigation time before filing charges that would stick.

What started as a neighborly dispute escalated into tragedy that night on Isleton Lane in the Lincoln Crossing neighborhood. The community was left asking questions as investigators worked behind the scenes, piecing together motive, evidence, and the exact circumstances that led to the shooting. Neighbors at the time expressed frustration over the lack of public information, hoping police would share more details to ease their concerns.

With Lasu now in custody facing charges, the case moves into the court system. For the Williams family and the Lincoln community, this arrest marks a significant step—though questions about what truly happened that December evening remain part of the public record that will unfold through legal proceedings.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Lincoln Police Department’s dispatch center at 916-645-4040.
