On Tuesday, the skies above California’s Central Valley unleashed a whirlwind of activity, with five tornadoes reported as heavy storms swept through the region. The first was spotted around 2:10 p.m. near Kerman, labeled an EF-0 with winds clocking in at 70 mph. While it didn’t cause damage, it was nonetheless verified by video and radar.

As the day progressed, the meteorological drama increased. A second tornado formed in Merced County, and a more destructive EF-1 tornado wreaked havoc near Clovis, with winds of up to 95 mph and significant tree damage. It seems nature had a surprise in store for the residents! Shortly thereafter, another EF-0 tornado emerged in Tulare County, observed through amateur footage featuring well-defined funnels and rotation. Thankfully, amid the chaos, reports indicate no injuries were sustained.

With tornadoes making headlines, one has to wonder what the coming spring will bring. Are you assessing the potential for stormy weather, or have you bravely stowed away those storm shutters? Either way, it looks like Mother Nature isn’t done keeping us on our toes just yet!
