After a decade of charting five No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Comedy chart—two of which also cracked the top 10 on the Country Albums chart—Wheeler Walker Jr. is calling it quits. The comedian’s rowdy country alter ego, brought to life by Ben Hoffman, will ride off into the sunset later this year with a final album and a sprawling farewell tour that wraps at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on May 15, 2027.

The final project, Pullin’Out, drops September 25, followed by the Pullin’Out: The Farewell Tour, which kicks off October 15 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Hoffman made his mark in 2016 with the debut album Redneck Sh—t, becoming the first artist to simultaneously chart on both Billboard’s Country Albums and Comedy Albums charts. Since then, he’s built a devoted following with crude, comedic material on tracks like“Redneck S—t”and“I Like Smoking Pot”—a stark contrast to the polished Nashville playbook he’s now openly rejecting.

In his exit statement, Walker Jr. didn’t mince words:“I can’t do this anymore. Every song in Nashville is written by twelve idiots named Chase about trucks they don’t own and farms they never worked on. I really don’t wanna be around when country music becomes fully AI, which sadly will be better than most of the crap they’re putting out now.”It’s a parting shot that captures the essence of what made Wheeler Walker Jr. compelling in the first place—unfiltered commentary on an industry he sees as creatively bankrupt.

The farewell tour is substantial, spanning 40-plus dates across the U.S. and Canada before concluding at the Mother Church of Country Music. Pullin’Out marks the sixth Wheeler Walker Jr. record produced by Grammy winner Dave Cobb, who’s also helmed work with Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, and Sturgill Simpson. A preview track,“F—k This Bar,”signals that Walker Jr. isn’t going out quietly.

For fans who’ve followed his journey from underground novelty to a genuine chart force, this is the final chance to catch comedy-country’s most unapologetic voice live. Whether you’ve admired his refusal to play by Nashville rules or simply enjoyed the spectacle, Pullin’Out: The Farewell Tour represents the end of an era. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 12, at 10 a.m. local time.
